Unofficial 20th Anniversary Mac Web SiteApple Computer

About Us...

As a proud owner of a 20th Anniversary Macintosh, I feel that it is extremely important to share my experiences using this machine with other TAM owners.  This website is my way of contributing to the 20th Anniversary Macintosh experience.

I am currently a web developer at a large insurance company (and yes, we are a Windows shop).   I have been working with Macintosh products since 1985 when I started out as a sales associate at a local computer store.  Over 13 years later, I am still pretty much a Mac bigot.

When the TAM was officially announced last January, I knew that I had to get my hands on this machine.  The initial price was shocking, but after one look at the machine, I was hooked.

My experience with this machine began back in September '97.   The past several months have been interesting.  I did experience a few nagging hardware issues, but Apple eventually resolved them to my satisfaction (I'll detail the issues in the "Tech" section).  I have noticed that overall support for this machine is scarce.  It's hard to find the information you need when you run into trouble.  Apple's tech support is simply not enough.  We need more.  That's why I want to help.

With your help, I am hoping that we can collect and share a wealth of information about this machine to make our experiences more pleasant.  I urge you to mail me with suggestions for this site.  As you can see there isn't too much here at the moment, but not to worry, I am working hard to collect material for this site.  Keep checking in and spread the word to other TAM owners!

Welcome Aboard!
